Self-employed Business Development Manager

We are looking for a self-employed Business Development Manager to help us scale our business over the next few months. You’ll be working directly with the founder, Jason Nichols, to help grow the business, both directly with consumers and via businesses such as retailers, offices and hotels. About New Kings Coffee...

We are on a mission to help consumers and businesses enjoy great tasting coffee, easily prepared, whilst remaining ethical and sustainable in everything we do. Our innovative coffee bags (like teabags) are filled with a selection of gourmet quality ground coffees from around the world, providing a range of different aromas, tastes and strengths to suit all coffee drinkers. All of our coffee is Fairtrade and Organic, and our packaging is eco friendly. We’re already stocked in retailers such as Planet Organic and Whole Foods, and have started our export journey, selling in Dean & Deluca supermarket in Kuwait. We’ve got big plans for huge growth in the UK and beyond.

What’s the role?

You’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering our sales strategy, finding suitable businesses across the UK, building a relationship with them and converting to becoming advocates of New Kings Coffee.

This involves setting the sales strategy, researching and qualifying leads, approaching them using a number of different methods, including phone, email and social media, submitting proposals, winning them over and then managing the onboarding process for new customers ranging from independent retailers to large offices and hotel chains.

You’ll have a considerable input into the growth and success of the business.

What are we looking for? We’re looking for someone who is ready to:

  • Build on their excellent track record in generating and delivering business growth and sales (B2B);

  • Happily cold call customers as this will be a large part of your job;

  • Be hard working, tenacious, with a can-do attitude;

  • Be independent and self-motivating;

  • Be flexible in their approach to work;

  • Enthusiastic, optimistic with a positive growth mindset;

  • Buy into and represent New Kings Coffee’s vision and values.
